Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple in Gujarat is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Known as the “Shrine Eternal,” this temple stands proudly on the edge of the Arabian Sea. It has witnessed both destruction and rebirth over the centuries. The temple has been rebuilt multiple times. Lord Soma first built it in gold, Ravana rebuilt it in silver, Krishna in wood, and finally, King Bhimdev reconstructed it in stone. The current structure, featuring Chalukya style architecture, was rebuilt in 1951 under the guidance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
