Mahabodhi Temple is located in Bodh Gaya, a sacred city in the state of Bihar, India. This is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the entire world, drawing millions of devotees and spiritual seekers every year. The temple stands as a majestic tribute to Lord Gautama Buddha, known here as the "Enlightened One of Bodh Gaya." It is believed that Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment here under the sacred Bodhi Tree, transforming himself into the Buddha who would change the course of human spiritual history.

The temple complex was originally established by the great Mauryan Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE. Situated at the banks of the holy Niranjana River, it provides a deeply serene and spiritually uplifting backdrop to this timeless sacred site. Bodh Gaya is said to be the very epicenter of Buddhist civilization and is a beautifully preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The towering 55-meter spire of the Mahabodhi Temple reminds all who visit that the Buddha's teachings of peace, compassion, and wisdom endure as long as humanity exists. The sacred Vajrasana (Diamond Throne) beneath the Bodhi Tree marks the exact spot of enlightenment.
