Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the oldest temples of Shiva located in the heart of Varanasi (old name Banaras). It was constructed in the year 1780 by Maharani AhilyaBai Holkar of Indore. Varanasi city in Uttar Pradesh is known as one of the oldest cities in the world. This Jyotirlinga, situated on the bank of the Ganga, is said to offer liberation (moksha) to anyone who even gets a glimpse of it. It is more than just a temple; it is the spiritual city where every single thing belongs to Shiva.
